About the Artist.
Lauren Leigh Gallagher was born and raised on Cape Cod, MA in the small seaside town of Sandwich. After graduating from Endicott College in May of 2016 she moved from the North Shore back to Cape Cod to work and create for a year at home before continuing her studies. Lauren is currently working in the Special Education program at a local high school and is an editorial contributor for an online magazine. Beginning this fall, Lauren will continue on in her education at Lesley University to become a licensed/board certified Art Therapist and a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC).
She has a creative soul and passion for traveling with art, dance, music, and the written word as vital forms of expression in her life. Lauren finds endless inspiration in the environment she lives in along the atlantic coast as well as through self-reflection, personal narrative and listening to the stories of others. Much of her work holds deep roots in the concept of identity formation.
Currently this artist's works are focused in the medium of oil painting, but she often explores other media as well. You can find Lauren on any day either painting away in the studio or somewhere beside the ocean.
